- Rich___Cheri_ExplorerThanks for your input, but I've already had my awning fabric changed to the proper 845 length. Still had the water dumping problem and it caused the tube to be bent requiring replacement. The auto dump only works properly if the coach isperfectly leveled or slightly down at the rear. Since putting the drain hole in the fabric (with a brass grommet) I haven't had any problem with water.
- wa0mqeExplorerThis is interesting. Since I have the year motor home your referring to, just a different model 34B, but it does have the same kitchen slide and awning mounted higher on the roof. I checked the number you refer to and mine is # 855. I wonder what this means?
I do have the water dumping problem.
Of course I'm past the 3-year warranty also. Figures. - dkingdoeExplorerMeme & Ray... I went back several pages to find where you posted the original information about the awning issue.
Here's what was shared ... PROBLEMS WITH DOMETIC AWNING ON 2004 PACE ARROW 37c
I am posting this in case anyone else is having problems with their Dometic weather pro awning with the wind and rain sensor features. Our awning has just never seemed to really dump rain water to our satisfaction and we even bent the main tube when water remained on the awning during an unexpected rain storm. We found out recently that we had mismatched awning parts and fabric from the factory which has caused our awning to not perform properly. Our 2004 37C was manufactured in late 2003. If you have a unit that matches this description you may want to check the following information out. If you have a the large Dometic WeatherPro awning that extends from the side door and over the kitchen slide and your awning is mounted on the roof and not the sidewall of the motor home you should look for a special number that is visible on the tube of your awning when the awning is fully extended. You will find a white sticker with some awning information on it located on the tube near the end that is nearest the front of the motor home. Look for a number that is hopefully 845 that indicates the length of the fabric on your motorhome. 845 is correct. If you have 815, 825, 835 your fabric could be the incorrect length for a roof mounted awning and it will not dump water properly. If you have already had to have your awning tube replaced because it bent from a previous problem try to verify what the numbers were on your original tube and not the replacement tube you now have. Our dealer was smart enough to keep our original awning tube sticker information with our service records when our tube was replaced back in July and this information helped verify that we had the wrong length awning material installed at the factory. These awnings are under warranty by the manufacturer for 3 years so don't delay contacting Dometic if you have this problem. Your time is running out.
Had the first opportunity to look for the numbers you've been taking about. Well, low 'n behold we found the sticker with Product #958303334 / Model #815-EE20.001U / Serial #52270523 / date 06/07/05. So the number you're talking about is the 815 in the model # ... :E
Rich & Cheri ... check yours out! Could be why you had issues.
Hope this helps. - Meme_RayExplorerRich and Cheri:
Read about your awning problem. If you have a 37C or another model with a kitchen slide and are having a problem with your awning dumping properly your rig was likely equipped with the wrong length awning at the factory. A few of us have had this problem. Dometic replaced our awning with the correct length free of charge. Have not had any problems since. Earlier posts in this forum give a part number on your tube that will tell if you have the problem. But you must get the number from your original tube, not the replacement tube.

Had to replace the roller tube on my power awning due to it being bowed from collecting water during a heavy rain. The motor would "stall" as it tried to roll in the awning and the bent section put additional stress on the motor. Unless the coach is perfectly level or down at the rear, the auto-dump feature of the awning doesn't get rid of the water and the roller will bow in the middle. I punched a hole in the fabric at the middle of t't fall outhe roller and about 4" in and put in a grommet. The hole is 3/8". Had a heavy rain last night and the water drained thru the hole and phe bolt canrevented any accumulation.
Also had the same shear-bolt problem and replaced with a schedule 8 bolt from local hardware store. Also wrapped the bolt and nut with duct tape so if the nut end shears again the bolt can't fall out. - rolnhomeExplorerCampsmoke, if you don't mind my buttin' in, which chassis is it on? My wife and I have fulltimed 5 yrs in ours. Be happy to answer any questions also. Our 37C has been to almost every state in the Union and all but one state in Mexico. Enjoy yours I think they are great rigs.

Hi there Fyr guy - we are about to pick up a 2005 Pace Arrow 37C - this will be our first motorhome - trading in our 28 foot 5th wheel on the unit - love the looks - want to full-time it - do you have any words of wisdom for us?
Norm
campsmoke, picking up a used rig normally means the bugs have been worked out and repaired... I stress "normally". Judging by how long ago the post of mine you quoted I'll guess you've been eagerly reading all the posts in this thread so your way ahead of the curve as far as knowledge on your specific rig. If you have any questions that come up, feel free to post the question here or to email me privatley and we'll get you some help, good luck and you'll really enjoy the Pace Arrow.

Hi Jim, we have an '05 as you can see by my signature. I noticed an alignment problem with our compartment doors before delivery and I had the dealer correct it. The leveling jacks have been replaced by a new system which is an electric system that works flawlessley although a tad slower than the power gear system I had in my Southwind. Not had the shower problem or kitchen faucet problem. BTW, we LOVE our Pace and because it's an '05, the shocks are all Bilstein all around and the ride and handling is wonderful. I would love to stay in touch with other owners of the newer Pace Arrows in order to compare notes on problems and fixes. Any one have the time to start a "Pace Arrow Owners Group" somewhere on the web? - rolnhomeExplorer

roinhome, As a tip, I had my dash air checked and serviced at year one. It was working OK, but I was getting a bunch of other work done so I threw the air in too. While in New Mexico at a rest stop, with the dash air running, about the same as your 75-80 degree temp. When we got back on the road, it was freeze out. Really cold air coming out. Talked to a gent about a year later at an RV park and he had had a similiar experience. We attributed it to insufficient air flow through the engine compartment even with the fans running. On year 4 now and no problems at all.
Thanks for the tip. I did find that I had 35 lbs pressure on the low side. Discovered the low pressure valve was ever so slightly leaking. Tightened it up and put in a can of Freon (not bad for 5 years with the slow leak) brought the temp down to 60/65. I too believe it does not have enough air flow when stopped. The air has always worked well. Only turn on generator to run house air to keep passengers and animals cool. The dash air works fine otherwise. I have not had the problem of the roof air not working off the generator as we go down the road. We are leaving Arizona next week headed for the Fleetwood Rally in Wyoming then to my sons in Seattle for the summer. - saberExplorerAll this talk about sheared bolts brings back an incident from two years ago. Haven't had the problem, but two years ago ran into a like RV at a park that had the front hanging bolt on the storage compartments on the LR slide break. He managed to get a jury rig fix until he could get a spec replacement bolt. In talking to a rep one time I was told that the weight limit for the two right rear plastic floored compartments was 350# each. I have never been able to get a good consistent answer on weight limits for the slide compartments. Anybody heard of one?
