Bird Freak, what were the advantages of the LG? It is a 32" as I recall? Are the speakers mounted on the sides?
It sounds like we will need to wait for the new King Dome to get HD without an external dish, but it seems to me there would be no reason to wait on the TV purchase, yes?

I finished my tv replacement with the LG. Tight fit but well worth it.
Thanks for the info.
Gary, glad it all worked out.
Paul, I'll be switching to the new King Dome when it comes out but will still hang on to the tripod when the trees don't cooperate.

Replacing front 27" CRT TV in '05 Pace 36D
I'm getting around to getting rid of the old front CRT TV and reading prior posts raises some questions. I have Directv and the optional auto-satellite locater that Fleetwood installs. Does the LNB in this dish allow me to receive the HD channels Directv currently offers, or does the dish LNB and wiring have to be replaced to receive HD?

I started to change my front and rear TV but put it on hold for a few months after talking to King Dome. They related that a new King Dome is coming out around Feb. 2007 that is designed for HD with DirecTV. She could not give a price yet but said it would be model# 9704 and it will work all three satellites for HD while mounted on your RV. I am going to wait and check it out and do everything at one time.

Yep added trac bars and safe-t-Plus. Heres a post on it
http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/17618390.cfm - Fyr_guyExplorerGary, first issue is that the Directv HD channels are on a different satellite. You'll have to have DTV's HD receiver to decode the signal. In my search I found the 32" to be the maximum size that can be made to fit in the existing cabinet providing IMHO the most stable and safest configuration.
I use a tripod with a triple LNB if staying more that 1 day and get all my HD channels as I'll lock on to sats 101, 110 and 119. If it's just overnight, I switch an A/B switch I added to select the Dome and get my standard def programming. BTW, I removed my old CRT tv with myself and a teenage neighbor. Have fun! My TV cabinet measures 31&9/16" wide. Has anyone found a flat panel larger than 32" that will squeeze in? (since screen measurement is diagonal and speakers can be along the bottom edge)?
Since we have to look up to see the screen I was wondering about field of vision loss - are there TV types which I should avoid so as to not have this problem?
Anything else I need to be concerned about (other than needing two weight lifters to take the old one out)?
Thanks, Gary - Paul_TurpinExplorer

- runagroundExplorerDont't know if Fleetwood will replace them, I doubt it, how could you be sure the new ones they send the dealer work? Knowing what I know now I would buy some good ones from Camping World or off the web and call it good. I know what you mean Richard, I must have spent two days screwing around with the horns chasing wires. They tested what they thought was the wires at first (me too) and said no power to the wires, problem was no continuity through the horn.
The Horn button on the steering wheel controls the horns under the hood and the horns on the roof. Both sets blow at the same time. There are three fuses in three different places to the horns, not sure how they interconnect.
