Lot of water from A/C

If your coil is freezing up then you have other issues. A clogged evaporator coil, or worse yet a refrigerant leak. If you don't have water issues when its raining then you can rule out the gasket.

The adhesive side of the gasket should be placed on the AC. Set the unit in the opening and center it up looking from inside the coach. The recommended torque is 50-60 INCH POUNDS. No additional adhesive or sealing is required.

thanks so much everyone! I think I will double check everything and replace the gasket. Now I have done this before and notice one side of the gasket had sticky tape but the top side did not. Has anyone ever put some silicone or something like that on the top side that touches the A/C?

If it was wet around the compressor and there is no rain, your drain holes are NOT draining the water. Now, IF you are positive the drain holes are clean and have no blockage and you get a LOT of water coming in, the USUAL cause is, the AC Mount bolts are too tight and you have collapsed the AC gasket down so far that the drain holes on the bottom of the pan are touching the roof itself. This is more common with RVP(Coleman) units but you do not specify what brand you have as you can do the same with Dometic units. ALL you have to do is pull the top covers that exposes the evaporator and then pour water onto the Evap drain pan and watch where it goes. IF the water does not flow quickly out of the drain pan thru the 2 side drain holes, then this is probably your problem. Doug

We experienced the same problem only ours leaked in the middle of the bed. What I found was there is a drip tray under the front coil of the air condition. The tray sticks through the bottom of the air condition frame near the front of the unit. This is where the drains are. Those drains were clogged from dirt which caused the over filled tray to allow water pour into the bed and stain the ceiling. I drilled larger holes in the drains hoping this would not again, and some 17 years it hasn't, knock on wood.

It's a matter of personal preference but leaving the fan on all the time will result in higher inside humidity levels and more chance of condensation in the duct work. It is generally not a good idea.

Your leak might be coming from the duct work OR from a joint that is loose or rusted out and leaking where there is no gasket.

You may have to take some things apart to find the real problem.

Probably not possible to prevent water infiltration in conditions like that......where the wind is extreme and there is no warning.

All of the suggestions about gaskets and such apply when it is rain water that is coming in. They may or may not also apply when it is condensation from the A/C running.

To clarify! It was not raining it was sunny and hot. I do leave the A/c on so the fan stays running. The gasket is about 1year old I did clan the fins evev though they looked good. I also tightened the 4 screws I did all this prior making this post. And as soon as I turned it back on it started dripping again. I ran to walmart and bought a shampooer to suck all the water off the ceiling and floor.since then its been off. And im just using the rear A/C.

Went through a waterspout/mini tornado last Friday, week.
Water poured in through rear air. Just had gasket replaced two years ago, probably a little loose. will have to check it this week.
Seems some cam in the refrigerator vent or furnace vent too.
how do you seal the refrigerator vent?
