The macerator does have its purpose.
We are full time so black tank is always somewhere between empty and full, it never sits empty for very long so I do not concern myself about getting every last drop out. I do, however, let the grey fill before dumping the black and use the backflush from the grey (open the grey while the black is still open) to clean out the black, not perfect but good enough since it will be used within the hour anyhow :)
