When I do use the macerator on a trip I flush the tank when possible using the gravity feed standard sewer hose.
The macerator does have its purpose.
I have not had any issues in getting my tank clean with the FloJet and my backflush system.
I have the clear sleeve where it attaches to the motor home and by the time I am done flushing, it looks just like bottled water. :)
