We go back and forth to Maine from Central FL and we do the 81-77-26 with one variation. On 26 between Colombia and 95, we go south on US 301. Federal Rd, good shape, mostly four lane divided, scenic, not much traffic. Avoids Jax which isnt as bad as it used to be.
301S you could get on the Florida Turnpike (toll) or do 441.
Slower than 95.
Ebenezer Park in Rock Hill SC is a nice county park, under $30 FHU 50A on a lake. A bit off the highway but worth it.
