We have a lot of RV experience, from a 7 foot pop-up truck camper to a 38 foot diesel pusher with a slide-out. Like fourthclassC, out current RV is also an older Winnebago Minnie 24V.
The big engineering/cost tradeoff in RV's is size. If you are going to live in it, bigger is better. When you are driving or parking it, smaller is better.
As a single person, you will have plenty of room in a small Class C.
One observation I made, AFTER we bought our Minnie, was that Class C's under 25 feet are usually on an E350 chassis. Those over 25 feet are usually on a E450 chassis --- better suspension and brakes, etc.
The 24V Minnie is an awesome RV --- good size compromise for two people, functional roomy floor plan, and better than average construction.
However, if I had it to do over again, I would look for a E450 chassis, even if we had to go to 26 or 27 feet to get it. Also, I would also get enclosed/heated tanks. Our cold weather RVing days are behind us. Unfortunately, sometimes nice weather just turns cold. With heated enclosed tanks, frozen plumbing is not an issue.
Good luck. Let us know what you decide to do.
