One thing we do when in the US is add a cetane booster. Cetane levels are higher in Canadian diesel but tend to be on the edge of the Mercedes specs for the US diesel.
The issue is not whether the engine will run well (although bio WILL reduce MPG slightly), the engines run fine. The concern has to do with long-term issues such as oil dilution, injector deposits, etc. And, even if none of this happens, MB seems to be positioning itself to reject warranty repair payments if B20 has been used.
