I don't mean to veer too off-topic, but I've read that an oil evacuation pump is a wise thing to use as well. The reason for this is because it would not just remove the oil from the crankcase, but the sludge on the bottom that wouldn't come out with just the normal oil drain. In fact, some European cars don't even have a bottom drain plug anymore, because the maker assumes the vehicle will be maintained with a vacuum pump.
