Just as a clarification, I wasn't referring to "flotation tires", per se, when I mentioned the guys that like to take their otherwise everyday driver pickups offroad on the weekends. I know those flotation tires are special - also not good for everyday driver use when going back and forth to work.
They have tires on their pickups intended for everyday use (except for maybe more aggressive tread designs like either M&S or snow), but with higher than stock ply ratings which they think gives them improved toughness. From what I read, these tires they also air a bit down on weekends when offroad. :)
