Michelin vs Toyo

I have been comparing the Michelin XRV (235/80R-22.5) to the Toyo M154 (245/75R-22.5). The Michelin is about $900 more expensive. The local dealer claims that he can get them in about 2 weeks (I had a concern about their availability). One dealer claims that the Toyos are a good tire, but ride more harshly than the Michelin.

Could I hear from some folks that switched to the Toyos about their experience?

    NO tire company can escape some issues.

    Of the two choices I would go for the Toyos. So far I never seen a negative comment on them not a report of an issue.

    My first Beaver had Toyos and they were 10 yo and I replaced them with Hankook. This coach also has Toyo...not as old but ride and handle great. Come time for replacement I will stick with quality...either Hankook, Bridgestone or Toyo.

    I don't doubt that they have less problems when Toyo has such a small percentage of the RV market.
    I don't know of any new RV manufacturer that puts anything other than Michelin or Goodyear tires on their new coaches, regardless of the coach selling price.

    Quality is exactly what you get when you buy TOYO tires.
    Just so happens they cost less too. Sidewall cracks and blowouts seem to be less than some of the other brands.

    Replaced the Michelin with Toyo and like the ride and handling much better.

    IMHO you get what you pay for - Michelin - from big truck to small cars every time I have tried something different than Michelin I've always been SORRY - REALLY SORRY.

    Your right. With all the zipper blow outs on the Michelins I would get the Toyos also. Much better quality.

    Firestones are my tire of choice. Better than toyo or michelin price and ride

    I put Toyo's M154's on my DP 3 years ago and they have been great!
