Modification

I just got done doing a Modification for my basement door handles I had paint made up by CTI paint supply and panted the handles to the color of the basement doors. The color code was in the rear closet but you would have to go to Sherwin Williams with that code at a 3 can minimum at $25.00 a can no thanks. CTI only charged me for 1 can that was $15.00 a can the only thing is you will have to take something down to them so they can do a color match they don't have that code for RV's it is a code only for Sherwin Williams.

Almost seems anytime the CUSTOM paint comes from the FACTORY there is a huge premium, and anything from any other source much cheaper. For me I'd match at Home Depot. Their matching system is fantastic.
Home Depot has Urethane Enamel? And does rattle cans? I guess I am missing something there.

  • The paint code for our Landau is a standard Chrysler Corp color. When I couldn't find one of the common touch-up brands to match in stores, I ordered a mixed to order spray can and a scratch pen from AutomotiveTouchup.com
  • Any shop that mixes auto paint should be able to match the SW paint codes. The numbers will be the same, but the letters will not, but the paint tech has little to no problem figuring the code out. NAPA comes to mind, and the rattle cans can be the most economical, as no thinner, or activator is required, and they make the can as you wait.
