Monaco Camelot Front end

Does anyone have any information on the upgrade to the front deck to strengthen the windshield mounting area on a Camelot?
Also if anyone knows of any available design drawings of the front end of a 2006 Camelot I would be interested. I cannot find used or new replacement front fiberglass parts for mine.

From my reading it is a lack of support for the front cap. Extra steel supports we're added to the bottom to help support it's weight. I'd call Monaco.
  • Most likely Monaco will have the drawings you're looking for. They buy their caps already made so if nothing else they would be able to pass that info on to you. Call them 800-509-3417.....Dennis
  • Check underneath the coach, in front of the tires, to see if any of the braces from the frame to the front cap are broken or have bad welds. If the front end is loose, you will feel the steering wheel shake when you hit a bump and it may kick off the cruise control.
This is a pretty simple fix for any welding shop but remind them to disconnect your engine electronics before they do any welding as a precaution.
  • When my coach was new the windshield cracked in the upper right corner. When I went back to the factory with my 1 year punch list of things to be addressed, they installed what's called a Halo Kit in the upper part of the front cap that stabilized the twisting action of the cap. They removed the front cabinets including the TV and installed aluminum braces in a circular fashion. These were welded in place. Then they had a template to resemble the windshield that they used to check the side clearances between where the glass would go and the fiberglass. They had to grind away some material that was too close to the glass and added some in other places. This was 7 years ago and the windshield has never cracked again. There were no steel braces installed in the process and no braces were installed in the generator compartment up to the front cap.
