Monaco Windsor Question

2002 Monaco Windsor - Can anyone tell me about reprogramming the electronic entry door keypad? The book says the press the button under the dash,,, then go through the programming steps. I can't find a button under the dash that looks anything like the one pictured in the Monaco book.

Anyone with experience or knowledge on this.
  • Tinstar, take a peek in the arm rest at the passenger side. You may have to removed the plastic bin.

    Good luck,
    MM.
  • I don't know if this will help you but did you look under the ash tray pull out?

Look under the passenger cup hold that lifts out. If no cup holder then remove the top of that side compartment.
  • "Tinstar" ....as you can see, Monaco located the unit in one of three places. Often, if you go into the coach when it's quiet and push the remote, you can hear the unit click. I'm not sure what brand of remote entry they used in 2002. Mine was a Trimarck which is basically a car alarm. Mine had a red LED that blinked when you clicked the remote. In the dark, while looking in one of the three places mentioned above, you could sometimes see the red LED illuminate.
  • Hummmmm, I've checked all the area underneath the plastic bin (near the passenger seat arm rest) that Mr. Mark and Ivylog mentioned. There is no kind of switch in there. I did find two extra seat belts in there that can be attached for the couch though.

crasster, I don't have an ash tray but there is a cup holder pull out tray about the center of my dash and a drawer underneath. Tomorrow I will try and figure out how to take the cup holder tray out and check inside there.

DSDP Don I can hear a little click in the dash when I hit the factory default code. It sounds like it's about in the area where that cup holder tray is located.

I re-read the manual regarding reprogramming the code. It says: Locate and press the Programming Switch located under dash panel". I have been looking under the dash but not the dash panel. It reads like I need to remove the dash faceplate and it is "inside" the dash somewhere. Hopefully I can get access to it when I get the cup holder tray out (if it's in there).

BTW, when I press the factory default code, I can hear a solenoid in the door trying to do something but it's not locking or unlocking using that code. I wonder; if it's been reprogrammed, does that somehow deactivate the factory code? If not, maybe the locking solenoid is shot and need replacement. I guess the solenoid is located inside the door. Anyone have any particulars with changing the solenoid or where to buy one. I'm sure I could get it from Monaco but maybe it's a generic part and could get it at an auto-parts house.

Thanks for the help so far.
