  • Congrats on the new coach. We certainly enjoyed our previous Monaco. They have a good tech support team if needed.

    Safe travels,
    MM.

  • Almost 9 years for ours
Overall experience with ours is "positive" :)
  • You won't find a better coach. Monaco made a quality product and the Camelot is the first level that goes to a side radiator in the Monaco lineup.

There was one issue with a couple of models.......I'm not sure what year. They had a really flat roof in the engine compartment and retained heat when you stopped. Monaco did a repair that cut a long slot (about 6" x 6') above the engine doors and installed some 12 volt radiator fans (like those used in new cars) to pull the heat out. This was no big deal, but something to think about if you discover a heat issue.

There is also a generic issue with Monaco coaches and many others. The roofline clear coat does not hold up well. Most Monacos of that era, the clear coat has gone bad on usually the front cap and one side.

Make you get on a ladder and inspect all four sides of the roof. The repair to repaint and fix the issue, is about $3500.00. This may be a bargaining chip you can use.

Again, these are minor issues, the Camelot is a great coach and the above two issues are not something that would scare me away.
  • None of the 08's require DEF. They do have DPF's. Def started with 2010. Can be confusing!

  • Been driving my 2008 Camelot for 9 years and love the rig. Mine is a 40' PDQ floor plan that works perfect for me. I have installed anti sway bar kits front and rear that really helped some handling issues and recently fabed and installed X-bars for the trailing arms that made a huge improvement. You will not go wrong with that rig plus the price is very good.

On edit: I should add that my motor does not require DEF as I ordered my coach with that motor. Some 2008's did have the DEF requirement so check on that feature, not that it really matters. I just like the fact I don't have to bother with DEF.
  • The 08 Camelot is a nice unit. Sort of a poor man's Dynasty. Same 425 hp ISL, same Allison. 10 bag roadmaster chassis if it is a Tag model. We own the Dynasty. My BIL has the Camelot. He loves it.
