The REASON only two posts talk about the OP's question is that this topic has been beat and beat and beat.....a very SIMPLE search using the box above as 2oldman did, will reveal at least a weeks worth of reading on this subject.
To answer the OPs question: If you're forming the LLC for a business purpose AND you follow ALL the rules pertaining to that, then it's legal. If you're forming the LLC strictly to avoid paying your home State's taxes AND you violate any of the rules, then it's fraud and very strict penalties follow....Dennis
