I think it's been said already, but unfortunately, with any gas motor, the best upgrade you can do is exhaust(get that cat out of there, and a free flowing muffler), and a tune. Even with that, you will net ~50hp or less.

If it was a diesel....much different story... Very easy to get an extra 100hp just from a chip. :)

I started looking at all of the power improvements when I first got my Winnebago (also 32' on the E450 with the V10). If this is your first year with the RV you may want to give it a little time. I ended up doing nothing for extra power. Towing a Jetta TDI I found it didn't justify the cost of the modifications for the minimal change in power I'd end up with.

It will pull great in overdrive (even at 25,000 combined) if the breathing is improved. Since mine now makes much more low end torque, I've changed to programming accordingly to hold OD to a lower speed and under more throttle, which keeps in in OD about 99% of the time.

That's right :S didn't dawn on me this was a stripped commercial econoline chassis. Now the question is did Ford put the redesigned 3 valve exhaust manifolds and Y pipe on the 2 valve at some point. If not then exhaust help is very much needed and custom tunes.

Oh, and one more thing. All his tow/haul tunes have a version that locks out 5th gear when in tow/haul mode. Mike will even set it to lockout 5th until you reach a certain speed of your choosing. The biggest problem with the 5 speed is no way to manually select the 1:1 4th gear. With a gas engine pulling 20,000 lbs, unless your on flat level ground without head wind, there is no reason for overdrive.

Seriously from all I've researched the biggest bang for the buck on the 3 valve V10 is custom tunes. Over on Ford Trucks there is a 6.8L V10 section and hours of reading on the huge improvement Mike's tunes provide. You have to weed through all the 2 valve posts as there's not much to gain by messing with the 3 valves intake or exhaust. Check out this thread and watch the video.

I'm in the process of selling my 2012 6.2L so I can purchase a low miles V10 F350 in the 2008-2010 era. I will have one of Mike's tuners in my suitcase when I fly out to the location of the new truck.

I find off the line acceleration adequate at partial throttle (people move slowly here) and I have only one intermediate gear ratio to cover the 1-2 combination on your 5-speed Torqueshift.

If you are not flooring it off the line, you don't know what you can do with the power you have, and if you do anything low cost to increase peak power, you won't feel it off the line, you will feel it at the top of each gear, when RPM is 4000-5500 or so. And only at full throttle.

Your RV is a big truck, not a sports car. For a big truck, your C has a quite impressive power to weight ratio, but not on a par with modern cars, even economy cars, which might have 80-120 HP in sizes that used to do with 40-60 HP.
