Most Desired Accessories

Would be interested to hear what accessories you have purchased for your motorhome that you feel are "must haves". We have a surge protection system built in to our Allegro Open Road but still plan to buy one to hook up to the post at the CG. We also plan to buy a water regulator and a soft water system as we will be spending a fair amount of time in the southwest and know the water is very hard there.

What other things do you recommend? Curious minds want to know!

    That’s for the first 10 years… :B
  • RV sized tool set or set of tools (found a small rechargeable drill and screw driver).
  • TPMS for MH and toad, most popular is the TST 507 system.
GPS. Garmin for RV`s is the most popular. Im trying the Co-Piolot app this year.
Some type of air system for filling tires. I have a 2 1/2 gallon tank with built in compressor. it came with my air horn kit.
  • Vent covers for the ceiling vents, which IMHO should be standard from the factory. Being able to have them open when it's raining or when driving down the road is a tremendous help.

I bought my motorhome used, so it came with some of the most essential accessories already included. The really important ones that I bought myself (and can think of right at the moment) were a decent #2 square head screwdriver and some towel bars to add to the zero that it came with that were suitable for bath towels.

If you have a proper EMS unit built in, one which will disconnect for low and high voltages, I personally don't see any need to get a redundant one. It's kind of like putting coasters under the saucers under your teacups.
  • Adapters to connect to different amperage in pedestal.
A set of tools to do repairs including various screwdrivers, slip joint pliers, box end wrenches and a multimeter(learn how to use basic operations)
  • Most things will be specific to your needs. A good sewer hose and fittings is essential. We hate bottled water but hate tap water even more so spent some money on an RO setup. Space is always a consideration so give great thought to things like outdoor chairs and gear and how they will store and how to keep things from moving around while travelling are good ways to spend some time and a little money (dishes, food items etc). If your MH doesn't have one I would also recommend a good TPMS.
