You really can't compare the Jeep Cherokee with the Chev Equinox. The Jeep is a truck type vehicle designed to go off road. The Equinox is a car with an SUV body. Two different types of vehicles. Not saying the Equinox is bad, I've never driven one. If you're looking for basically a station-wagon that is what the new crossover vehicles basically are. They have made them look more like SUV's, but they are still just a car. To me the Jeep vehicles just go with RV's because of the off road capability. But if you don't ever plan on leaving the paved highways, then you probably don't need a Jeep anyway.
