Someone linked Consumer Reports as a reference for jeep reliability. That particular report states: "In fact, 74 percent of the owners in our most recent satisfaction survey said they’d buy one again. So what’s the problem? Driven daily on “normal” roads, the ride is punishing, handling is clumsy, and it drinks fuel like kids devour juice pouches (17 mpg overall)."
Not one word about reliability.
As for not liking the handling, if you are used to the squishy ride of a car, no you probably won't like it. I drive trucks and sports cars so I find it quite average. If you want a toad that has the squishy ride of a car, you might consider the Cherokee or Grand Cherokee, but I would stay away from the off road enhanced editions of either. And stay away from the wrangler.
We are on our third jeep (2 wranglers and a GC) and we never had any problems with reliability. They were amazing in the snow and we could go where most people couldn't.
As for Consumer Reports, I stopped reading them a long time ago. Their reports are biased, lacking comprehensive truth, and sometimes even fake. I stick to Motortrend, Car and Driver, and the like. But, I don't care what most people are driving, I want to drive what the pros like to drive.
