I always cover, each winter.
The cover is soft, causes no damage or wear to my finish, keeps the sun off and keeps ice from freezing on the roof. The cover top is a typar type material and snow slides off all winter preventing weight on the roof.
My cover is a one size fits all 35 ft to 38 ft. It might weigh 30 lbs if that.
