I lived most of my life as a penny pincher. At 44 I changed careers and had much more free time to be with family. At 48, my Dad passed away. He left us without realizing most of his dreams. The week before he passed, the last thing he said to me was, "have you gotten that RV yet?".
I knew exactly what he was saying in that sentence. Six months later, we had our RV. I've made such quality memories with my family that if I'm broke in a rocking chair at 75, I'll have no regrets.
Waiting is surly financially wiser, but it comes with a risk of its own. I'll take my bird in the hand over the two in the bush.
Not advocating being stupid, but many of us lose sight of being balanced in this regard. Time is more valuable than your money.
