Mount for TV in MH ?

I am adding a flat TV inside MH. I am looking for a low profile thin mount to attach flat to wall up next to the ceiling. The mounts I have found so far are okay for use at home but concerned they are not suitable for bumps and road vibration of a MH. The design counts on the TV to hang on a bracket with clip so it won't jump off, but no provision for it to prevent sliding from side to side. I worry would jiggle, rattle or come loose. I have checked Camping World, they have the same ones in the box stores. Is there a TV mount with rubber bushings intended for MH to secure and protect the TV?
  • Morryde makes a variety of TV mounts for RVs. I installed two different ones in our coach.
  • So far I have mounted four flat panels and none of them had special provisions for vibration or locking in place. I made locks for two of them out of patio door locks and the other two, nothing. No problems so far.

Perhaps posting a link to what you are thinking of might help.

All four I have used are available online and for residential use. Add the word RV to Mount and expect to pay $75 or $100 dollars each.

Highest I have paid home or RV is $35.00 and that was years ago.

Are you saying you WANT the TV to slide from side to side? I've never seen a mount that would do that. I've seen plenty of wall mounts that PIVOT and articulate. Now, if you're just wanting the TV to just be in one spot and not move anywhere for viewing, well then take a look at these:

    Flush mounts

Waaaaaaaaaaay back a few hundred decades ago, when I was building elevators, we used zillions of these and, they're still popular today. That's why in elevators, when you look at the large panels that are on the walls, they're zero screws showing. Everything is done from the back sides.

They are a two piece design. One half goes on a wall, the other goes onto whatever you're hanging. You just slide the picture, TV etc. right onto the one on the wall, DONE! Obviously, you use one set on each side or, in the case of an expensive TV, you'd use 4 sets. The TV can be mounted onto a piece of 1/2" or, 3/4" plywood, just a bit larger than the mounting screw positions on the back of the TV. Then, the flush mounts are placed on that piece of plywood at the strategic corners.

Then, the counterpart flush mounts are placed on the wall. All you do it slide the TV downwards, onto the flush mounts on the wall, DONE. Now, as stated, this will not allow for any movement of the TV for alternate viewing angles. It's a straight on viewing thing only.

  • Yes, there is a mount made for RV's. I don't know about a thin mount. I have one that has an articulating arm so the TV pulls out and I can turn it side to side. When pushed in it has a lock to hold it in place. I was also worried about too much vibration but the newer TV's are so light the thing doesn't seem to bounce at all.
  • I never could find one. I just used the same kind you are talking. So for the last 5 years plus it has not fallen. The ones that they roll down from the ceiling would work, "Like in a Prevost". If you google Rv ceiling tv mounts , there are a lot of them out there now.
