This alum vent pipe is one of required ways of redirecting your exhaust if you do not have a venturi by the Monaco group that has been doing this for 20+ years at the balloon fest... IT WORKS!
Thank you Holstein 13 for posting a simple solution to this problem when parked close together and using your generator.
Furnace venting does not have 20 mph exhaust air speeds to start with. :S This also applies to it only being window high. :S
While I agree you will get more air sucked in with a gap, refer to the 20 mph above plus I'm pretty sure a real Venturi only uses 3" tubing.
I actually experimented with the amount of gap on my Presidential Rig and found by IR temp measurements that 2" gave me the coolest temps. Centering the exhaust in the middle of the gutter elbow did not make any difference.
