The 90 deg sweep elbow is so short, and generally a larger diameter than the stock exhaust pipe, so there's virtually no change in back pressure. Onan's own exhaust extensions will create more back pressure than a Gen-Turi. - John_WayneExplorer IIHave a home made one that I use when parked in crowded areas, send me a PM (with your e-mail address) if you're interested in my parts buying list to make your own for about 60.00.

- wa8yxmExplorer IIII have one and use it anytime I run the genny parked for more than say 30 minutes... WIthout it, when the RV was new, 2 hours and the CO alarm became very alarming, WITH it, 24 or more hours and no alarm. I'm sold on it.
Design flaws.. One of the options for supporting the weight of it (The genuine article does not weight much but many home made ones do) is suction cups.. They do not stick all that well.. I used Eye bolts and they work very well. The kit is supposed to come with both. - deandecExplorerBuilt one with parts from Hardware store several years ago. Cost about $25.
Works great, especially when boon docking near tents or other rigs.
We like to get the exhaust up above the rig and away from our patio, which migrates from underneath the coach, and windows level. Roof fans are all exhaust fans so no sucking of the exhaust into the rig. - D_E_BishopExplorerI have one and used it for the first time the past week, it was very calm and during these situations we usually get some exhaust smell. I did notice that there was a difference in the sound of the generator, less exhaust sound more cooling air sound. I don't know if the cooling fan noise increase was due to the ground below the generator(hard surface vs soft sand)or the reduction in exhaust noise.
I built it my self and it cost about $60 vs twice that at CW. It was worth it for personal satisfaction. I used a triple wall drain pipe from Lowes because it had a white exterior. I had the connecting elbow made to fit my exhaust pipe. I am going to have an extension made to move the end of the elbow inside the 3" pipe to see if there is any further reduction in the sound. So far we like the effect. - beemerphile1ExplorerHave it, love it, won't run the generator without it.
When we first got the TT we couldn't run the generator for more than an hour without the CO alarm going off. The alarm has never gone if with the Genturi in place.
Some people make their own DIY Genturi. We got ours at a good sale price and didn't feel the DIY work was worth it for what we paid. - RognBonExplorerI've been using one for over three years and it works as advertised.
- bobsallyhExplorer IIWe have used one for several years and it does work well. Breaks down easily for decent sized storage.
- Johno02ExplorerHave not used one, but have seen several in use. They are very good for rigs parked in close together, such as at public events. Keeps you from gassing your nearest neighbor, which is not consitered polite. As our exhaust sometimes sets off the CO detector, I use a 6' section of flexable exhaust tubing to extend away from the side of the MH.
