Until I read the OP's post, I was getting ready to put mine on Craigslist for $50.
Then the NASCAR post only solidified my need to use it.
Something is better than nothing. The Genturi design, turning the hot exhaust gas up and pulling the cool air up with it, has to be about as optimal as you would want.
I agree the real genturi provides optimum performance. The dryer duct is better than nothing.
As you alluded to the real thing can be found on Craigslist for $50.00. If you are the frugal type, keep an out out for the real thing or just buy the real thing.
In a pinch the $12.00 dryer duct is better than nothing. But don't fool yourself into believing it is equivalent to the real thing.
