Whatever you do, do NOT let any repair shop talk you into 'sanitizing' the system. I got sucked into it and my ac has not worked since in my SUV. I've heard others have the same problem.
Regarding Lysol. Be real careful using that if you have any allergies or breathing problems once you have sprayed that stuff into the vents it doesn't go away and the residue actually can 'cause' breathing problems and is a serious health risk. IMHO do not use Lysol.
I had one car that did that musty smell when turned on. I stuck a couple of dryer sheets tucked into the blades on the defroster vents. I then turned the ac dial to defrost. That eliminated that first burst of musty smell and then turn the dial back to vents.
