Yes, I've been reading online as well...most indicate needing a tach - which I do not have. I very seldom run this coach in OD and NEVER while I'm towing my Subaru. I did run in OD from OKC to Tulsa and the newly installed Trans Temp gauge ran hotter than when I turned the OD off on the way home from Tulsa - about 215/220F in OD and about 200 when not in OD...I've always noticed that when I'm running in OD, the transmission will drop out up most grades fairly easily, so to avoid frequent shifts, I tend to drive with it off.
