Hey John - I just now saw the post. Haven't been on here in a while - swamped with other things. I never hear a "roar" from the fan clutch, although it was one of the first things I replaced in 2010 right after buying the coach. I'm not sure if that's the problem....
The Spectra is listed as a "2 row" radiator and I don't know what that means. It was a direct replacement fit though - looked exactly like the radiator I replaced. Maybe it's just a coincidence but this overheating issue coincides with this new radiator. The overheating transmission issues started after this replacement...I don't know if it's the radiator, thermostat???
I have not checked the timing, I must confess. Tried once and couldn't figure out how to get in there well enough to see...I am going to try again tonight or tomorrow and I'll report back.
I've got a simple question -- I hope. When using a laser temp what should operating temps be? Where should I point the laser? Should the upper hose be the same temp as the lower hose?
