Necessity of a spare?

Greetings!! - The DW and I are about to take delivery on a new Itasca 37F. One of things that surprised us about the coach was that a spare tire is not included. Is this simply a acknowledgeme...

..My thoughts exactly. These tires are way too expensive to have one sit unused rotting away for years, for something that may well never happen for most people.

Like I said before, if you don't carry a spare, worst case, you break even in costs if a blowout occurs one day. Best (and more likely) case, you end up $$ ahead significantly in the long run, 'cause you aren't throwing $$ away for a spare tire that just sits and rots away not being used.

The DW and I are about to take delivery on a new Itasca 37F. One of things that surprised us about the coach was that a spare tire is not included.

Is this simply a acknowledgement that normal humans cannot change those tires and we must call a truck tire guy anyway? It appears that a lot of big rigs no longer have spares as well.

We are concerned about the situation where we are stuck outside of some remote location with a flat. Based on the experiences in this forum, how real is that fear?

How do others mitigate the lack of a spare?

Like I said before, if you don't carry a spare, worst case, you break even in costs if a blowout occurs one day. Best (and more likely) case, you end up $$ ahead significantly in the long run, 'cause you aren't throwing $$ away for a spare tire that just sits and rots away not being used.
