Just take a trip up here on some of our current roads in New York State. You'll prefer driving thru the woods as it will be a smoother ride! :B

You won't at all "hurt" the electrical system by being plugged into 30 amp instead of 50 amp. Heck, there are a lot of us here that have our rigs plugged into 20 amp circuits when parked at home - just to keep the fridge running and the batteries charged. I can also run the TV and stereo while inside working on something. No problem. Again, you just have to be aware of how many things you have turned on at once. You're lucky to already have a 30 amp plug at home.

Just get a 50 to 30 amp plug adapter (available at any RV store). No problem running on 30 amp. You'll just have to be more aware of what/how many appliances and such you'll have on at one time. Biggest thing is that you usually won't be able to run both A/C units at one time. We've plugged into 30 amp several times without incident.

Don't make it more difficult than it is----you can take just about any thing you have on a dolly but if you have a tow specific vehicle thats the only one you can take......you drive 42 from Sanford to Asheboro and back and you will be able to drive anywhere.....never heard of a law requiring brakes on a dolly in NC but it would make the state rich around a car auction where about 1/2 leave there on a dolly.

Nobody can tell you how long the batteries will last. It depends on how new they are and what you are running. Take it for a short trip and boondock and see. If it is hot out you will run the genny anyway. Get a four down tow as it is much easier to hook up and to.tow. You have a month before the big trip. Use it and figure out how it will work.

We will be leaving for OR in July. Usually travel 7 to 8k miles on these trips. In the past it was with TT or 5vr or slide in truck camper (really cramped for us older folks). What can we expect on this type of trip and what kind of boondocking or dry camping can we be looking for? With 4 house batteries what can we expect for dry camping? Please help!

I am new MH owner also and been on couple small trips and one 1000 miler, quite the learning curve, any questions you may have hollar at me and i will give you my 2 cents, Make a list for Pretrip , I have already scraped everything off the top of it, hung the leveling jacks up in the mud with the 2x6 i put under the feet, Backed over my ladder , been down for weeks over a fuse that took me weeks to find, but I have replace all airbags, breaks redone the roof , replaced a water pump and rerouted some plumbing..Started waxing it , would leave that for the pros LOL OH digital antenaa put it down every time...they are expensive..
