I guess you know by now that no one should be on the slide when it moves, but anyway, just last nite, I was watching the online Good Sam magazine and they had an article on what to do when a slide acts the way you have described. One thing they mentioned, is that you have to activate the slide in and out a total of three times so that it adjusts and learns. If you have access to the Good Sam site, take a look at it, it might just work for you.
