Need help switching to AGM coach batteries

Hello,

We have a 2007, class A, diesel pusher on a Freightliner Chassis. A National Tropical 37 ft. The original coach batteries are due for replacemnt. I would like to switch to AGM batteries. The charger/inverter has a setting for AGM batteries so that should not be a problem.

The issue I am having is trying to find the proper size AGM batteries with the same terminal style as my current Trojan T-105 flooded cell batteries.

Any suggestions for the AGM replacement?

The coach has four 6 volt batteries, configured as two parallel sets of two 6 volt batteries in series. Is there a problem of simply putting four 12 volt batteries in parallel?

Any help would be appreciated.

  • If they will fit 12v is doable. I did that with the golf cart since I had some good used ones from a USP system at the old office space and the T-105's on the golf cart would not get me back up my hill if I went down it. :)

6v batteries often are taller so you may loss some total amp hour rating. Lifeline is a top of the line choice mentioned by Shadow Catcher.
  • I switched from 4 Trojan T125's (6 Volt) to 3 Lifeline's (AGM 31T 12 volt) with no problem. I did loose a few amphour's of capacity with the new batteries but for us that was not an issue.

  • I am using a single 150AH Lifeline battery in our Teardrop trailer arguably one of the best brands and with a large number of choices in size/form factor http://www.lifelinebatteries.com
