Need help with camping near Denver CO please

Ladies and Gents,
We'll be heading out for a trip to the Grand National Rally for the WIT club coming up and, one of the places we'll be traveling by is Denver CO. We'll be meeting some friends there coming from another direction so, we'll be camping in or around that area for at least a night or two. We'd like a nice campground, preferably not in the city but, maybe on the outskirts somewhat. Anybody got any experience with campgrounds/RV parks in that area? I know we can check campground books and, campground reviews but, it's always nice hear or, at least read on here, first hand experience of things like this. Thanks in advance.
Scott
  • We were in the Denver area this week and drove thru Cherry Creek state park, it was beautiful. We need to go back in about two months and plan on staying there. Price was $26 plus day pass of $9. Checked on several other RV parks in the area and this is the only one that we would stay at.
  • We have camped at Cherry Creek state park several times. A nice campground with cement pads and full hookups. Lots of deer and wildlife in the park ant yet you can see the skyline of Denver from the park. I give this park a very good recommendation.
