I would say keep what you have, especially if it's paid for. Force yourself to use it, a break from work makes a more happy worker. If you find you can't leave town, make yourself appoitments to start it and maybe once every couple of months take it for a drive as a last resort.
Keep it as long as maintence cost don't go above value. With 16.5k miles it's not even broke in yet. With a diesel that "starts" to happen around 25k miles.
So question is, is it paid for?
