Need help with Invisibrake

Every time I turn the corner my tires really squeel and I'm wondering if I need to adjust the brakes. On the Invisibrake usually there isn't much you have to adjust. What setting should I have it on?
  • I do not believe it is a brake issue. Sounds more like steering wheel is locked.
Double check what position the ignition key is suppose to be in to release steering wheel.
  • You can adjust the invisibrake. There is a box somewhere in your car, mine was put under the passenger seat. There is a knob on it that you can regulate. I have a ford focus, and mine is set at 55. The setting depends on the weight of the toad. If you still have problems, call Roadmaster at 800.699.9690. If they don't help, call Mike Cannon, 503.936.1565. Mike designed the braking systems at Roadmaster and is very helpful. He also monitors this forum.

Sounds like the power steering belt is slipping.

Power steering does not run when towing a car.
  • Sounds like enblthen is correct about looked up steering. Make sure that the steering is unlocked per instructions. That is what will happen if steering is locked, front wheels will be dragged side ways on turns. Need ignition key in inorder to do this.
  • I'm towing a 2012 Equinox. I do have in in neutral but it only drags the tires when I have the braking cable hooked up. I took it off and went around the block a few times and no problems.
  • I cannot under stand why the Invisibrake activating cable would only lock a brake on a corner. Have you checked for proper slack?
Have you checked the owner's manual for the key location? Going straight there would be no sound, but if the steering wheel is locked it would drag the toad's front end.
