You might be interested in this comparison of the Jack vrs the Batwing with Wing-man.
There are some truisms on Antenna's. Size matters, bigger works better then smaller and height matters, higher works better then lower.
So, a Jack, mounted directly on the roof, is NOT going to work as well as the Jack mounted to the Winegard crank-up (you can buy a Jack designed to do that).
I've done some testing of the Jensen that mounts directly on the roof, I didn't have a Winegard to test it against, but a random length of wire, connected at the roof, worked better.
Even better was a "flying saucer" antenna I bought at Radio Shack.
