We've got a 1990 Winnebago Warrior we bought about 5 years ago for $7500. It had roof leak issues around the skylight in the shower.
The hidden damage is always worse and more pervasive than what you can see. And the problem is with these RVs you generally can't really get at what you need to fix without seriously tearing out some stuff.
I ended up gutting the shower and rebuilding it. I also tore down all the drooping headliner and replaced it with the same fiberglass sheathing I used for the shower walls. But I did not tear into the roof to get at any rot there. The rubber roof had already been coated with the brush-on sealant and so every single fastener up there is over-covered with the goop. Trying to rebuild the roof would be a major undertaking and likely cost more than the RV is worth. I went with more goop and just fixing the two damaged internal walls of the shower.
And we have mold. It sets off my allergies something awful unless I take an Allegra. My wife and kids do not seem bothered.
If you can feel softness when you push on things, you've got rot, and you've got mold.
My advice is don't buy this kind of RV unless you can't afford anything else better, like us.
