Dealing with the dealers wastes a lot of my time. When I try to get the price down the they take me to another salesman. This works for me. I shop unitil I think I have RV I want. I look at their asking price and try to get an idea what the unit is worth. I do not discuss price. I just listen and try to not act excited about the unit I want. I call them back on the phone a couple of weeks later. I let them know I have narrowed my choices down. I give them a price and tell them if they are interested give me a call. You have short circuited all their pressure sales. You are not a captive audience wasting time. They have to decide. Is it a good deal and if not will he buy the other ones he is looking at. Now prior to that call when I am looking I make sure they know what I am trading. Plus give them your business card so they remember who you are. The dealer told me the manager would never go for my offer. I told him no big thing I have a coulpe of others I am looking at anyway. They called me 8:05 the next morning. They put a sold sign on the RV.
