I had read an article that a new low emissions diesel electric engine was being tested but one of the problems with it was that they would have to change the oil on a regular basis. That struck me strange as I thought all engines always had to have their oil changed regularly.
So I've talked to two train drivers and one guy who ran the maintenance shop for a RR line near here and they confirmed the oil wasn't changed on a regular basis, just the filter.
They did say lots of oil was added.
So are you saying the oil IS changed on a regular basis? You'd certainly know if you are building the things.
