Let's see, I can change my oil or have it tested to see if I need to change it for about the same cost. I think I will just change it.
Exactly! However, The reason I oil test is to see the trace metal contamination. You can get early warning on bearings/ rings /bushing before the engine is destroyed, turning what could be a reman engine into a less costly over haul.
