Shrader valve r-22 filled em looked for leaks to no avail now they stopped. $2800 + tax for two new 15k btu Penquin II AC/heat pumps. That includes all labor. This sound high to just me???

Newmar Flat rate for R&R of a Newmar installed AC is 1.5. We charge 2.0 per AC. So, our labor would be $500 for 2 units. That puts the AC's at about $1100 each which may be good if you are talking Penguin units and IF they are Heat Pumps. A lot of Newmar's came with the optional Heat Pumps. CW sells a Penguin 13.5 HP for $1400. A Brisk Air HP is about $800. Doug

Yes. That includes removal of old, full install, and the newer controller/t-stat.And, I definitely need the heat pump feature, we use our coach through December here in the Northeast.The 13.5s were like 2600 so I figured I'd go with the 15s hoping they'll not work as hard.

That right it line with what I paid for a replacement 15K Air/Heatpump for my 04 Dutch Star. Both units had previously been replaced under warranty a few years back and one went bad again. Cost me right around 1400 for one unit.

We replaced one of ours with the (not quite) 15k Penquin II w/hp a year ago. Our costs for the unit, new board to work off our existing Tstat, gaskets was just under $1,300 just for parts. We installed it ourselves. The only hard parts were taking the old one off and getting the new one on the roof. They are heavy machines. It would be well worth $100 labor. Fortunately we didn't damage it or the roof in the process or doing it ourselves would have been a really bad decision.
