I also live in Wisconsin and rockhillmanor is right, we have A LOT of deer. Most of the police departments in the state have deer guards on the front of the squads. The Sauk County Sheriff's department claims that the guards greatly reduce the amount of damage done. You have to keep in mind that these are not cheap ones made form light weight (almost conduit thin) metal. The guard that he installed on is class C looks like it should help keep the MH alive to avoid being stranded in a remote area.
Unfortunately, I have hit way more than my share of deer, or should I say that they hit me. A majority of the deer hits that I have been involve in have been the deer hitting the side of my vehicle.

I lived in a very rural area, so every night is an experience trying to get home in one piece. Especially when foggy when they love to play chicken with trucks.
One foggy night I successfully, maneuvered, dodged, and/or slammed on my brakes to avoid 4 different deer on my way home. The 5th deer I swerved and missed it and some how the dang deer doubled back and hit the side of my van.
A guy stopped and I thought he was a concerned motorist. Well he barely managed to get out asking if I was ok and quickly added asked if he could have the dead deer.
He had that deer off the road and in the back of his pickup in a nano second. A common practice in Wisconsin. Albeit you legally have to have a cop come and tag the dead deer. I just left and limped my van home happy to be alive that night. :B
