As to the longevity of the V-10. its as bullet proof as they come. they are known to go over 400k without issues. the biggest problems are the exhaust manifold studs breaking (wont leave you stranded) and the very early 2000-01 V-10`s would pop a spark plug if they were overtorqued! Other wise if you maintain it regularly it will last to well over 200k miles with nothing more than routine maint!
I hope the new 7.3 is as reliable as the V-10 is! it has big shoes to fill and as I said, time will tell.
