New Sunseeker slideout

Just this past week I saw a new Sunseeker Class C with a huge slideout. Instead of 2 separate slideouts for bedroom and living area, the entire wall on the drivers side except for about 2 feet would slide out. Looks like a great idea. I don't know if this is a new innovation, but it is certainly new to me. Anyone have any experience with this type of slideout and whether it is something new in a Class C?

  • One of these days I'm going to stop at the dealer just to see the space in the 3050.

They've been doing 12-16 foot slides on C's for at least ten years, much longer than that would be fairly recent. Full wall slideouts on A gassers go back to 2006-2008, not counting Rexhall, which has been doing full wall, both sides, for a long time.

Building a full wall slideout is a matter of making a raised floor frame strong enough to support the cantilevered load, and synchronizing enough slide rams to move it easily. 16-20 foot used to be the limit for a pair of the lighter slide mechanisms normally used for Cs.

To gerrym51, yes, this was the 3050S.

To tatest, I am sure this was at least 20 feet, because this was a 31-32 foot Class C and the slideout was the full wall except for maybe 2 feet total. It also had automatic levelers and an outside entertainment center. I wanted to talk to the owner but when I had the opportunity he was busy around the campsite so I didn't bother him. I am sure it was a new 2013 or 2014 year model. Very impressive unit at least from the outside.
