The diesel engines of today are NOT as reliable as the ones in the past due to the pollution controls that they now must have. In addition the process of removing the sulfur from diesel reduces the lubrication properties of the diesel fuel. Chandler AZ school district is switching to NG buses because of the lower reliability and high repair of diesel powered buses.
