THIS Toyota motor home for 24 years. It was a carbureted 4-cylinder with a rating of 96 horse power. Yes it was a slug. But it did average over 20mpg on trips. It turned out to be a great value. We paid $12,255 in 1983 and sold it for $7,600 24 years and 107,000 miles later.
If you are serious about "Any" Toyota chassis motor home, the V6 is the better choice for a multitude of chassis improvements, but still a slug for those rigs weighed a lot more than ours did at only $3600 pounds empty. With any Toyota, you won't be nearly as comfortable with 5 people as a standard class C rig with both a cab-over and rear queen bed.
