New Toad - 2014 CRV

DH and I are looking to replace our toad. We definitely want to tow 4 wheels on the road and have been told that a 2014 Honda CRV can be used that way. Anyone pull one/have any experiences doing so they would care to share? Thanks.

  • See toad in my signature..indestructible....the Saturn VUE's with the V6 AWD are 4 down towable..the drivetrain is the same as the CRV....I also have a Chevy Sonic with the 1.8L which is towable 4 down...just check the owners' manuals or look up the FMCA/motorhome magazines..once a year they publish the towing requirements.
  • towing a 2011 CRV from Tx to Wa back to TX to Ma and back to TX ... Love the CRV and is easy to drive and tow.
  • Get one if you can find one. We have an 09 that we have towed all over the country with no issues at all. Great car, very reliable. Was disappointed to hear new ones can no longer be towed, or we'd probably be buying a new one.
  • We bought a 2014 CRV as we liked the car and the deciding factor was that it is one of all wheel drive vehicles that can be towed behind a motorhome with no modification. I have towed it a couple of time without issues. The 2014 was the last year the CRV that can be towed as they changed the transmissions after 2014. For our use the CRV was a more practical car than a Jeep as it is our principle car. The CRV's are a nice car and very easy to get in and out of which is a bonus as we age.;)
  • read the requirements in an owner's manual under recreational towing or towing behind a motorhome.
