New water pump won't work

We were not able to get out of Alberta quick enough this year to avoid a good freeze which trashed my water pump. When we got down south I discovered it was leaking badly from the housing and completely had drained my fresh water tank. I replaced the pump with an identical 55aquajetARV but the new one is not working. I have reviewed all the threads on this website and Monaco IRV2 forum and have tried most of the suggestions ie: 1. toggling between city and tank fill handle 2. power is going to the pump on the positive lead is at about 10 volts (why not 12 v?) 3. all fuses are intact 4. I don't know if city hookup will work because I am currently boondocking in California.

Any other ideas?

Batteries are good. This one is a mystery, voltage doesn't seem to change whether water pump switch is on or off.

Has been done, filter is fine.
  • Is it possible you hooked up the pump wires reversed and caused the battery to draw down ??? If so it probably blew the fuse from the converter. Just a thought
  • Is the pump voltage the same as the battery voltage? I think we could be jumping to a conclusion too quickly. Could be a low battery. Or could be the something else. Seems to me if you are boone docking you would know if your battery was down. Is there a voltage drop between the battery and the pump? If you have a voltage drop between the pump and the battery I would disconnect it and connect it directly to the battey. cannect a short piece of hose to the input and stick it in a pan of water to see if it pumps. if it pumps water connected to the battery then it could be a clogged line putting a load on the pump or a bad electrical connection. You have to isolate the problem. Could very well be a battery problem if your battery voltage is that low.

yes sounds like battery supply power is too low to activate the relay
that runs the controller that runs the pump

Yes if you only have 10 volts, won't come close to working..better check all of these. If you have a small jump-start - try connecting the leads to the positive and negative battery clamps to see if the pump works then.
