The best sealant is from Aircraft Spruce and Specialty. Use fuel tank sealant which will last 25 years and put masking tape around both edges before applying. It will never wash off your hands or clothing so use rubber gloves. To apply, squeeze it out and use a tool called a spoon to smooth, not your finger.
